I have been a Camano Island resident and a professional, independent journalist, editor, and volunteer for 25 years before voters, in the 2006 general election, gave me the honor to serve as an Island County Commissioner for four years. That first term of office has produced: new mental health program funding, the addition of an emergency services planner for Camano Island, the addition of an economic development facilitor for Camano Island, the purchase of new public shoreline park access on Camano, community-based drafting and county adoption of a new Camano Gateway ordinance for the island's SR 532 commercial corridor, and a balanced county budget that maintains county services deemed essential by community and courthouse staff concensus.
I am happy to continue serving the people of Island County for another term if that is the wish of voters in 2010.
Thank you!
Monday meetings are televised via a videoconferencing link to Island County's Camano Annex offices, 121 N. East Camano Drive, Camano Island, located south of Camano Plaza and Camaloch Golf Course.
